This is a study companion for Cambridge IELTS 17, Test 3, Listening. Use it with your own copy of the book and its audio: do the test first, then see what each section was about, learn the vocabulary, and understand every answer and what to listen for.

Part 1: Advice on Surfing Holidays
Situation: a woman phones Jack for advice about taking her children on a surfing holiday in Ireland. Question type: note completion (Q1–10), ONE WORD AND/OR A NUMBER. পরিস্থিতি: একজন নারী আয়ারল্যান্ডে সন্তানদের নিয়ে সার্ফিং ছুটি নিয়ে Jack-এর পরামর্শ চান। নোট পূরণ, এক শব্দ ও/অথবা সংখ্যা।
