This is a study companion for Cambridge IELTS 17, Test 4, Listening. Use it with your own copy of the book and its audio: do the test first, then see what each section was about, learn the vocabulary, and understand every answer and what to listen for.

Part 1: Easy Life Cleaning Services
Situation: a client phones Jacinta to arrange cleaning for a one-bedroom flat and asks about the staff. Question type: note completion (Q1–10), ONE WORD. পরিস্থিতি: একজন গ্রাহক এক-বেডরুম ফ্ল্যাটের পরিচ্ছন্নতা ঠিক করতে Jacinta-কে ফোন করেন ও কর্মী সম্পর্কে জানতে চান। নোট পূরণ, এক শব্দ।

Part 2: Reducing Staff Turnover in Hotels
Situation: a speaker explains why hotel staff leave and how different hotels have reduced staff turnover.
