This is a study companion for Cambridge IELTS 18, Test 4, Listening. Use it with your own copy of the book and its audio: do the test first, then use this page to see what each section was about, learn the vocabulary, and understand every answer and what you should have listened for.

Golden rule of Listening: the recording plays only once and the answers come in order. Before each part, read the questions and predict the type of word needed. Watch for distractors — the speaker often mentions a wrong option first.

Part 1: Job Details from an Employment Agency
Situation: Greg from an employment agency phones Julie about a receptionist job at a medical centre. Question type: note completion (Q1–10), ONE WORD AND/OR A NUMBER. পরিস্থিতি: এজেন্সির Greg একটি মেডিকেল সেন্টারের রিসেপশনিস্ট চাকরি নিয়ে Julie-কে ফোন করেন। ধরন: নোট পূরণ, এক শব্দ ও/অথবা সংখ্যা।
