Section 1: A Booking (Personal Details)
Situation: an everyday enquiry in which personal and booking details are given — a surname to spell (Black), a membership/reference number (2085), a telephone number (9456 1309), a code (2020BD), a month (July), some options selected from a list, a refundable deposit ($25) and when it starts (next week). Section 2: An Organised Trip / Talk
Situation: a talk giving practical information about an organised journey — an item to bring (a route book), a total distance (900 miles, not 90), a region crossed (North Africa), plus multiple-choice details and points selected from a list. Situation: a discussion about study skills and using the library — a deadline day (Friday), a subject (Biology), numbers of books borrowed (57 and 43), another day (Wednesday), a way to keep lecture content (recording lectures / using a recorder), a reading technique (skimming), a topic (the French Revolution), a question raised ("why study history"), and a subject of study (animal language).
