Section 1: A Car Insurance Enquiry
Situation: a phone call to arrange car insurance. The caller (Patrick Jones) gives an address, occupation, car details, a previous insurer, a claim (the car was stolen), and the name of another driver and their relationship, before getting a recommended company and annual cost. Situation: a monologue describing a city sightseeing service — a boat tour with stops (Palace, Museum, Entertainment Complex) and their features, plus a bus tour (the "Top Bus Company"/"Number One Sightseeing Tour"), how often it runs and where to catch it. Section 3: A Discussion about the Antarctic Treaty
Situation: two students discuss the history of the Antarctic Treaty — key dates (an 1870 meeting, the 1st International Polar Year, the treaty proposed in 1957 and signed in 1959) and which achievements the treaty secured (no military use, no nuclear testing).
