Section 1: Booking a Holiday
Situation: a phone conversation booking holiday accommodation — the price, the name of the property, its features (a balcony, a forest view), a reference number and the caller's details. Section 2: Information about an Attraction
Situation: a monologue giving information about a place or attraction — its features, arrangements, and figures such as numbers and age ranges. Section 3: A Discussion about a Course
Situation: two students discuss a course or project — a topic (the fishing industry), study skills (statistics, note-taking, building confidence, generating ideas), student support, and practical details. Section 4: A Lecture on an Eco-House
Situation: a lecture describing an environmentally friendly (partly underground) house — how it is built and insulated, how it generates its own electricity, deals with waste organically, and the environmental "debt" of the concrete used, which is repaid in about 15 years.
