Why Conditionals Signal Band 7+ (কেন গুরুত্বপূর্ণ)
Conditionals are the language of hypothesis and speculation — exactly what Task 2 and Speaking Part 3 demand ("What would happen if…?", "How could this be solved?"). A well-formed second or third conditional is a controlled complex structure that examiners reward directly.
Conditional হলো অনুমান ও কল্পনার ভাষা — Task 2 ও Speaking Part 3-এ ঠিক এটাই দরকার। নির্ভুল second/third conditional একটি নিয়ন্ত্রিত জটিল কাঠামো যা পরীক্ষক সরাসরি পুরস্কৃত করেন।
The key idea: the tense you choose signals how real you think the situation is. "If governments invest…" (likely) is very different from "If governments invested…" (imaginary). Choosing the right one shows precision.
মূল কথা: কাল বেছে নেওয়া বোঝায় পরিস্থিতিটি কতটা বাস্তব। "If … invest" (সম্ভাব্য) ও "If … invested" (কাল্পনিক) সম্পূর্ণ ভিন্ন।

The Four Conditionals (চারটি conditional)
Read left (real) to right (imaginary). The verb forms mark the shift. বাম (বাস্তব) থেকে ডান (কাল্পনিক) — ক্রিয়ার রূপই পার্থক্য।

Band 8 upgrade: replace would with could / might to hedge, and swap if subjects. "If governments were to invest more, emissions could be halved." Softer, more analytical.
Band 8 আপগ্রেড: "would"-এর বদলে "could/might" দিয়ে নরম করুন; "were to" ব্যবহার করুন।
Mixed Conditionals (মিশ্র conditional)
Real life mixes times: a past cause with a present result, or a present reality with a past result. Using these accurately is a strong Band 8 signal. অতীত কারণ + বর্তমান ফল, বা উল্টো — নির্ভুলভাবে ব্যবহার Band 8-এর সংকেত।
Present → Past: If + past simple, … would have + past participle
Beyond "if" & Inversion (if ছাড়াও)
Endlessly repeating "if" looks Band 6. Use these alternatives to show range. বারবার "if" Band 6 দেখায়। বৈচিত্র্যের জন্য বিকল্প ব্যবহার করুন।

Inversion — drop "if" (Band 8)
In formal writing you can invert the conditional and delete "if". It sounds sophisticated when used sparingly. আনুষ্ঠানিক লেখায় "if" বাদ দিয়ে inversion করা যায় — অল্প ব্যবহারে পরিশীলিত শোনায়।
Wish, If Only, Would Rather, It's Time (কল্পনামূলক)
These structures use "unreal" tenses too — perfect for Speaking Part 3 and reflective Task 2 points. এগুলোও "unreal" কাল ব্যবহার করে — Speaking Part 3 ও Task 2-এর জন্য উপযুক্ত।
