How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 10, Test 1, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives the topic of each part, an original model approach, and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script. Speak naturally about your own life.

Part 1: Weekends
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions (4–5 minutes). The topic is weekends — how you usually spend your weekends, which part of the weekend is your favourite, whether your weekends are long enough, and how important free time at the weekend is. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন। বিষয় সপ্তাহান্ত — কীভাবে কাটান, প্রিয় অংশ, যথেষ্ট লম্বা কি না, অবসরের গুরুত্ব।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Give a direct answer, then a reason and a small detail. The prompts ask "why/why not", so always add a reason. Keep answers to two or three sentences. উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ। "কেন/কেন নয়" যোগ করুন; ২–৩ বাক্য।
Useful openers: "I tend to spend my weekends…", "My favourite part has to be…", "Honestly, they never feel long enough because…"

Part 2: Describe someone you know who does something well
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks: who this person is, how you know them, what they do well, and to explain why you think they are so good at it. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, ১–২ মিনিট। এটি কে, কীভাবে চেনেন, কী ভালো করে, কেন এত দক্ষ।

Pick someone with a clear talent — a cook, a musician, a teacher, a sportsperson. Describe the skill in action, and explain the reasons (practice, natural ability, dedication). স্পষ্ট প্রতিভাসম্পন্ন কাউকে বাছুন; দক্ষতা বর্ণনা ও কারণ (অনুশীলন, স্বাভাবিক ক্ষমতা, নিষ্ঠা)।
Part 3: Skills and Abilities; Salaries for Skilled People
Part 3 is a two-way discussion linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are skills and abilities (which skills people most want today, which children should learn at school or at home, which skills will matter in future) and salaries for skilled people (which jobs pay most, which should pay more, and whether everyone should earn the same). Part 3: দক্ষতা ও সামর্থ্য; দক্ষদের বেতন।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: Point, Explain, Example. For "should everyone earn the same?", give a point, explain why, then an example. Show both sides and use hedging (it depends on…, generally) for opinion questions. P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ; দুই দিক ও hedging।
