How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 10, Test 2, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives the topic of each part, an original model approach, and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script. Speak naturally about your own life.

Part 1: Music
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions (4–5 minutes). The topic is music — the types of music you like listening to, at what times of day you listen, whether you learnt a musical instrument as a child, and whether you think all children should learn one. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন। বিষয় সংগীত — কোন ধরনের সংগীত পছন্দ, কখন শোনেন, ছোটবেলায় বাদ্যযন্ত্র শিখেছেন কি না, সব শিশুর শেখা উচিত কি না।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Give a direct answer, then a reason and a small detail. The prompts ask "why/why not", so always add a reason. Keep answers to two or three sentences. উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ। "কেন/কেন নয়" যোগ করুন; ২–৩ বাক্য।
Useful openers: "I'm really into…", "I usually listen to music when…", "I did/didn't learn an instrument, and looking back…"

Part 2: Describe a shop near where you live that you sometimes use
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks: what sorts of product or service it sells, what the shop looks like, where it is located, and to explain why you use this shop. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, ১–২ মিনিট। এটি কী বিক্রি করে, দেখতে কেমন, কোথায়, কেন ব্যবহার করেন।

Choose a shop you know well — a grocery, bakery, pharmacy or clothes shop. Describe its goods, look and location, and give clear reasons why you go there (convenience, price, friendly staff). পরিচিত দোকান বাছুন; পণ্য, চেহারা, অবস্থান ও যাওয়ার কারণ (সুবিধা, দাম, বন্ধুত্বপূর্ণ কর্মী)।
Part 3: Local Business; People and Business
Part 3 is a two-way discussion linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are local business (what local businesses your area has, whether they matter to a neighbourhood, how large malls affect small shops) and people and business (why people start their own business, its disadvantages, and the qualities a good businessperson needs). Part 3: স্থানীয় ব্যবসা; মানুষ ও ব্যবসা।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: Point, Explain, Example. For "how do malls affect small shops?", give a point, explain why, then an example. Show both sides and use hedging (it depends on…, generally) for opinion questions. P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ; দুই দিক ও hedging।
