How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 12, Test 8, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives the topic of each part, an original model approach, and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script. Speak naturally about your own life.

Part 1: Art
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions (4–5 minutes). The topic is art — whether you enjoyed art lessons as a child, whether you ever draw or paint now, when you last visited an art gallery or exhibition, and what kind of pictures you like having in your home. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন। বিষয় শিল্প — ছোটবেলায় আর্ট ক্লাস উপভোগ করতেন কি না, এখন আঁকেন কি না, শেষ কবে গ্যালারিতে গেছেন, বাড়িতে কেমন ছবি পছন্দ।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Give a direct answer, then a reason and a detail. Remember these prompts explicitly ask "Why?/Why not?", so always add a reason. For "what kind of pictures do you like at home?", name a type (landscapes, family photos) and say why. উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ। "কেন/কেন নয়" সবসময় যোগ করুন।
Useful openers: "I did enjoy art at school because…", "I don't really paint these days, but…", "I prefer calm landscapes at home since…"

Part 2: Describe a time when you visited a friend or family member at their workplace
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks: who you visited, where this person worked, why you visited their workplace, and to explain how you felt about visiting this person's workplace. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, ১–২ মিনিট। কাকে দেখতে গেলেন, তিনি কোথায় কাজ করতেন, কেন গেলেন, তাঁর কর্মস্থল দেখে কেমন লাগল।

Choose a workplace with plenty to describe — an office, a hospital, a shop, a school. Use past tenses, describe what you saw and did there, and explain your feelings (impressed, curious, proud). বর্ণনাযোগ্য কর্মস্থল বাছুন — অফিস, হাসপাতাল, দোকান, স্কুল। অতীত কাল; কী দেখলেন-করলেন; অনুভূতি বলুন।
Part 3: Different Kinds of Workplaces; The Importance of Work
Part 3 is a two-way discussion linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are different kinds of workplaces (what makes an office comfortable, why some people prefer to work outdoors, whether the building matters more than the colleagues) and the importance of work (what life would be like if people didn't have to work, whether all jobs are equally important, why some people become workaholics). Part 3: বিভিন্ন কর্মস্থল; কাজের গুরুত্ব।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: Point, Explain, Example. For "what makes an office comfortable?", give a point (natural light), explain why it helps, then an example. For opinion questions, weigh both sides and use hedging (it depends on…, to some extent). P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ। মত-প্রশ্নে দুই দিক ও hedging।
