How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 13, Test 1, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives you the topic of each part, an original model approach, and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script. Examiners easily spot memorised answers. Speak naturally about your own life.

Part 1: Television Programmes
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions (4–5 minutes). The topic is television programmes — where you usually watch TV shows, your favourite programme, any programmes you don't like, and whether you will watch more or fewer in future. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন। বিষয় টেলিভিশন অনুষ্ঠান — কোথায় দেখেন, প্রিয় অনুষ্ঠান, অপছন্দের অনুষ্ঠান, ভবিষ্যতে বেশি না কম।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Give a direct answer, then a reason and a detail. For "what's your favourite programme?", name it, say what type it is (drama, documentary, comedy) and why you enjoy it. Use present tenses and frequency adverbs (usually, hardly ever, now and then). উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ। "প্রিয় অনুষ্ঠান?" — নাম, ধরন ও কেন পছন্দ বলুন।
Useful openers: "I tend to watch…", "My all-time favourite is…", "I'm not really into…" — then add because/since.
শুরুর বাক্যের পর because/since দিয়ে কারণ।
Part 2: Describe someone you know who has started a business
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks: who this person is, what work this person does, why this person decided to start a business, and to explain whether you would like to do the same kind of work. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, ১–২ মিনিট। ব্যক্তি কে, কী কাজ করেন, কেন ব্যবসা শুরু করলেন, আপনি একই কাজ করতে চান কি না।

Choose a real person — a relative, friend or neighbour who runs a shop, a café, an online store or a service. Describe how they started, why (independence, a gap in the market, a passion), and say whether that path appeals to you and why. Use past tenses for how it started and present tenses for now. সত্যিকারের কেউ বাছুন — দোকান, ক্যাফে, অনলাইন ব্যবসা। কীভাবে ও কেন শুরু, আপনি চান কি না।
Part 3: Choosing Work; Work–Life Balance
Part 3 is a two-way discussion linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are choosing work (what jobs young people avoid, who best advises them, whether money is always the most important thing) and work–life balance (pressure to work longer hours, its impact on society, strategies to improve balance). Part 3: কাজ বেছে নেওয়া; কর্ম-জীবন ভারসাম্য।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: Point, Explain, Example. For "is money always the most important thing when choosing a job?", give your point (not always), explain why (job satisfaction and passion matter), then an example. Show both sides and use "it depends" where useful. P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ। দুই দিক দেখান।
