How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 14, Test 1, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives you the topic of each part, an original model approach (how a Band 7+ candidate could organise ideas), and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.
Cambridge IELTS 14, Test 1, Speaking-এর টপিকের জন্য স্টাডি কম্প্যানিয়ন। Speaking-এ নির্দিষ্ট "উত্তর" নেই, তাই এখানে প্রতিটি অংশের বিষয়, একটি মৌলিক মডেল পদ্ধতি এবং দরকারি বাক্য ও শব্দভান্ডার দেওয়া হলো।
Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script to recite. Examiners easily spot memorised answers, and they lower your score. Speak naturally about your own life.
মুখস্থ করবেন না। এগুলো অনুশীলনের ধারণা ও ভাষা — মুখস্থ স্ক্রিপ্ট নয়।
Two golden habits: in Part 1, use Answer + Reason + Example. In Part 3, use Point → Explain → Example (P-E-E). Both stop one-word answers and show development.
দুটি অভ্যাস: Part 1-এ উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ; Part 3-এ Point → Explain → Example।
Part 1: The Future
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions to warm you up (4–5 minutes). The topic is the future — the job you would like ten years from now, how useful English will be for your future, how much travelling you hope to do, and how you think your life will change. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন (৪–৫ মিনিট)। বিষয় ভবিষ্যৎ — ১০ বছর পরের চাকরি, ইংরেজির প্রয়োজন, ভ্রমণ, জীবনের পরিবর্তন।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Because the topic is the future, use future forms naturally: will, going to, hope to, plan to, I'd like to. Give a direct answer, then a reason and a detail — e.g. for the job question, name the job, say why it appeals, and add what you will need to get there. ভবিষ্যৎ বিষয় বলে future form ব্যবহার করুন (will/going to/hope to)। উত্তর + কারণ + বিস্তারিত দিন।
Useful openers: "In ten years' time I hope to…", "English will be crucial for me because…", "I'd love to travel, especially…" — then justify with because/so that.
শুরুর বাক্যের পর because/so that দিয়ে কারণ যোগ করুন।
Part 2: Describe a book you enjoyed reading because you had to think a lot
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare and make notes, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks you to say what the book was, why you decided to read it, what it made you think about, and to explain why you enjoyed it. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, তারপর ১–২ মিনিট। কার্ডে: বইটি কী, কেন পড়েছিলেন, কী নিয়ে ভাবিয়েছিল, কেন উপভোগ করেছিলেন।

Choose a book that genuinely challenged you — a novel with a moral dilemma, a science or history book, or a philosophical story. Say what made you think (a hard question it raised), and connect it to your own views. Use past tenses for reading it and present tenses for the ideas it still raises. এমন বই বাছুন যা সত্যিই ভাবিয়েছিল — নৈতিক দ্বন্দ্বের উপন্যাস, বিজ্ঞান/ইতিহাসের বই। কী ভাবাল তা বলুন ও নিজের মতের সাথে যোগ করুন।
Part 3: Children and Reading; Electronic Books
Part 3 is a two-way discussion of more abstract questions linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are children and reading (popular types of children's books, the benefits of parents reading to children, whether children should choose their own books) and electronic books (how popular e-books are, their advantages over print, and whether they will replace printed books). Part 3 হলো Part 2-এর সাথে সম্পর্কিত বিমূর্ত প্রশ্নের আলোচনা। বিষয়: শিশু ও পড়া; ইলেকট্রনিক বই।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: state a Point, Explain it, then give an Example. For "will e-books replace printed books?", give your point (unlikely to replace entirely), explain why (many people prefer the feel of print; not everyone has devices), then an example (children's picture books still sell well in print). Show both sides and don't be afraid to say "it depends". P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ। দুই দিক দেখান; "নির্ভর করে" বলা যায়।
