How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)

A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 15, Test 3, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives you the topic of each part, an original model approach (how a Band 7+ candidate could organise ideas), and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Cambridge IELTS 15, Test 3, Speaking-এর টপিকের জন্য স্টাডি কম্প্যানিয়ন। Speaking-এ নির্দিষ্ট "উত্তর" নেই, তাই এখানে প্রতিটি অংশের বিষয়, একটি মৌলিক মডেল পদ্ধতি এবং দরকারি বাক্য ও শব্দভান্ডার দেওয়া হলো।

Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script to recite. Examiners easily spot memorised answers, and they lower your score. Speak naturally about your own life.

মুখস্থ করবেন না। এগুলো অনুশীলনের ধারণা ও ভাষা — মুখস্থ স্ক্রিপ্ট নয়। পরীক্ষক মুখস্থ উত্তর সহজেই ধরেন।

Two golden habits: in Part 1, use Answer + Reason + Example. In Part 3, use Point → Explain → Example (P-E-E). Both stop one-word answers and show development.

দুটি অভ্যাস: Part 1-এ উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ; Part 3-এ Point → Explain → Example।

Part 1: Swimming

Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions to warm you up (4–5 minutes). The topic is swimming — whether you learned to swim as a child, how often you go swimming now, what places there are for swimming where you live, and whether you think swimming outdoors or in an indoor pool is more enjoyable. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন (৪–৫ মিনিট)। বিষয় সাঁতার — ছোটবেলায় শিখেছিলেন কি না, এখন কত ঘন ঘন যান, আপনার এলাকায় সাঁতারের জায়গা, খোলা জায়গা না ইনডোর পুল বেশি উপভোগ্য।

Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)

Give a direct answer, then extend with a reason or example. For "did you learn to swim as a child?", answer yes or no, add who taught you or why you never did, and one memory (my uncle taught me in a village pond one summer). For the indoor-vs-outdoor question, take a side and justify it — this lets you use comparatives (more relaxing, cleaner, safer) naturally. সরাসরি উত্তর, তারপর কারণ/উদাহরণ। "ছোটবেলায় শিখেছিলেন?" — হ্যাঁ/না, কে শেখাল বা কেন শেখেননি, একটি স্মৃতি। ইনডোর-আউটডোর প্রশ্নে এক পক্ষ নিয়ে comparative ব্যবহার করুন।

Useful openers: "Yes, I learned when I was about seven…", "I don't go as often as I'd like, but…", "Personally, I find swimming outdoors far more enjoyable because…" — then add a reason with because / since.

শুরুর বাক্যের পর because/since দিয়ে কারণ যোগ করুন।

Part 2: Describe a famous business person that you know about

You get a cue card, one minute to prepare and make notes, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks you to say who this person is, what kind of business they are involved in, what you know about this business person, and to explain what you think of them. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, তারপর ১–২ মিনিট কথা। কার্ডে: ব্যক্তিটি কে, কী ধরনের ব্যবসা, তাঁর সম্পর্কে কী জানেন, এবং তাঁকে নিয়ে আপনার মত।

Choose someone you genuinely know a little about — a global figure (a tech founder) or a Bangladeshi entrepreneur (for example, the founder of a well-known local company or Dr Muhammad Yunus and Grameen Bank). Say what the company does, how the person built it, one or two achievements, and end with your honest opinion (admirable for creating jobs; or too focused on profit). Use past tenses for the story and present tenses for what they do now. এমন কাউকে বাছুন যাঁর সম্পর্কে কিছুটা জানেন — বৈশ্বিক টেক-উদ্যোক্তা বা বাংলাদেশি উদ্যোক্তা (যেমন ড. মুহাম্মদ ইউনূস ও গ্রামীণ ব্যাংক)। কোম্পানি কী করে, কীভাবে গড়লেন, অর্জন, এবং নিজের সৎ মত দিয়ে শেষ করুন।

Part 3: Famous People Today; The Advantages of Being Famous

Part 3 is a two-way discussion of more abstract questions linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are famous people today (what kinds of people are most famous in your country, why there are so many stories about celebrities in the news, and whether many young people want to be famous) and the advantages of being famous (whether it is easy for famous people to earn money, why they enjoy having fans, and how they could use their influence to do good). Part 3 হলো Part 2-এর সাথে সম্পর্কিত বিমূর্ত প্রশ্নের আলোচনা। বিষয়: আজকের বিখ্যাত মানুষ; বিখ্যাত হওয়ার সুবিধা।

How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)

Use P-E-E: state a Point, Explain it, then give an Example. For "why are there so many stories about famous people in the news?", give your point (they attract readers), explain why (media earns money from clicks and attention), then an example (social media makes every detail of a celebrity's life instantly shareable). Show both sides — fame brings wealth and influence, but also pressure and loss of privacy — and don't be afraid to say "it depends". P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ। দুই দিক দেখান — খ্যাতি সম্পদ ও প্রভাব আনে, তবে চাপ ও গোপনীয়তা হারানোও; "নির্ভর করে" বলা যায়।
