How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 4, Test 3, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives the topic of each part, an original model approach, and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Part 1: Leisure
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions (4–5 minutes). The topic is leisure — whether you have any hobbies or interests, how you became interested in them, what there is to do in your free time where you live, how you usually spend your holidays, and whether there is anywhere you would like to visit. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন। বিষয় অবসর — কোনো শখ আছে কি, কীভাবে আগ্রহ জন্মাল, আপনার এলাকায় অবসরে কী করার আছে, ছুটি কীভাবে কাটান, কোথায় যেতে চান।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Give a direct answer, then a reason and a small detail. Keep answers to two or three sentences and add an example. উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ; ২–৩ বাক্য।
Useful openers: "In my free time I usually…", "I got into it because…", "One place I'd love to visit is…"

Part 2: Describe a River, Lake or Sea You Like
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks you to say what the river, lake or sea is called, where it is, what the land near it is like, and to explain why you like it. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, ১–২ মিনিট। বলুন নদী/হ্রদ/সাগরটির নাম, কোথায়, আশপাশের ভূমি কেমন, এবং কেন ভালো লাগে।

Choose a real place — a river like the Padma or Meghna, a lake, or the sea at Cox's Bazar — and describe its name, location, the land around it, and why you enjoy it (scenery, calm, memories). Use descriptive adjectives and present tenses. পরিচিত একটি জলাশয় বাছুন—পদ্মা/মেঘনা নদী, হ্রদ, বা কক্সবাজারের সাগর; নাম, অবস্থান, আশপাশ ও ভালো লাগার কারণ বলুন।
Part 3: Water-Based Leisure & the Economy
Part 3 is a two-way discussion linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are water-based leisure activities (what people enjoy at rivers, lakes and the sea, the benefits of water activities, and the pros and cons of the sea versus a swimming pool) and the economic importance of rivers, lakes and the sea (how water transport compares with other kinds, why being near water helps a town, and changes in fishing and water-transport jobs). Part 3: পানিভিত্তিক অবসর ও নদী-হ্রদ-সাগরের অর্থনৈতিক গুরুত্ব।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: Point, Explain, Example. For "how important is it for a city to be near water?", give a point (trade/transport), explain why, then an example. Show both sides and hedge (it depends…, generally) for opinion questions. P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ; দুই দিক ও hedging।
