How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 5, Test 1, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives the topic of each part, an original model approach, and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script. Speak naturally about your own life.

Part 1: Your Country
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions (4–5 minutes). The topic is your country — which part most people live in, the main industries there, how easy it is to travel around, and whether your country has changed much since you were a child. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন। বিষয় আপনার দেশ — বেশির ভাগ মানুষ কোথায় থাকে, প্রধান শিল্প কী, ঘোরাফেরা কতটা সহজ, ছোটবেলার পর দেশ কতটা বদলেছে।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Give a direct answer, then a reason and a small detail. Keep answers to two or three sentences and add a comparison with the past where useful. উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ; ২–৩ বাক্য; অতীতের সঙ্গে তুলনা।
Useful openers: "Most people live in…", "The main industries are…", "It's changed a lot since I was young because…"

Part 2: Describe a Well-Known Person You Like or Admire
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks you to say who this person is, what this person has done, why this person is well known, and to explain why you admire this person. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, ১–২ মিনিট। বলুন এই ব্যক্তি কে, কী করেছেন, কেন বিখ্যাত, এবং কেন আপনি তাঁকে শ্রদ্ধা করেন।

Pick a real, well-known figure — a scientist, athlete, artist or social leader — and describe who they are, their main achievements, why they are famous, and the qualities you admire. Use present and past tenses. সত্যিকার বিখ্যাত ব্যক্তি বাছুন; পরিচয়, অর্জন, খ্যাতির কারণ ও প্রশংসার গুণ বলুন।
Part 3: Famous People & Being in the Public Eye
Part 3 is a two-way discussion linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are famous people in your country (what kinds of people become famous now, whether this differs from the past, and how people will become famous in future) and being in the public eye (the good and bad sides of fame, how the media treats famous people, and why ordinary people are interested in their lives). Part 3: বিখ্যাত মানুষ ও জনসমক্ষে থাকা।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: Point, Explain, Example. For "what are the disadvantages of being famous?", give a point, explain why, then an example. Show both sides and hedge (it depends…, generally) for opinion questions. P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ; দুই দিক ও hedging।
