How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 6, Test 1, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives the topic of each part, an original model approach, and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script. Speak naturally about your own life.

Part 1: Dancing
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions (4–5 minutes). The topic is dancing — whether you enjoy dancing, whether anyone has ever taught you to dance, what traditional dancing is like in your country, and whether traditional dancing will stay popular in the future. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন। বিষয় নাচ — আপনি নাচ উপভোগ করেন কি না, কেউ শিখিয়েছে কি না, আপনার দেশের ঐতিহ্যবাহী নাচ কেমন, ভবিষ্যতে তা জনপ্রিয় থাকবে কি না।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Give a direct answer, then a reason and a small detail. Several prompts ask "why/why not", so always add a reason. Keep answers to two or three sentences. উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ। "কেন/কেন নয়" যোগ করুন; ২–৩ বাক্য।
Useful openers: "I'm not much of a dancer, but…", "We have a traditional dance called…", "I think it will survive because…"

Part 2: Describe Someone in Your Family Who You Like
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks you to say how this person is related to you, what this person looks like, what kind of person he/she is, and to explain why you like this person. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, ১–২ মিনিট। বলুন এই ব্যক্তি আপনার সঙ্গে কীভাবে সম্পর্কিত, দেখতে কেমন, কেমন স্বভাবের, এবং কেন তাকে পছন্দ করেন।

Pick a real relative — a parent, sibling, cousin or grandparent — and describe their appearance, a few personality traits, and a specific reason or memory that shows why you like them. Mix present tenses with a past example. সত্যিকার আত্মীয় বাছুন; চেহারা, স্বভাব ও কেন পছন্দ তার একটি নির্দিষ্ট উদাহরণ দিন। বর্তমান কালে বলুন, একটি অতীত উদাহরণসহ।
Part 3: Family Similarities & Genetic Research
Part 3 is a two-way discussion linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are family similarities (the ways members of a family resemble each other, whether daughters are more like mothers, and whether personality comes more from family or friends) and genetic research (where people get information about it, how your country feels about it, and whether it should be funded by governments or private companies). Part 3: পারিবারিক মিল ও জেনেটিক গবেষণা।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: Point, Explain, Example. For "should genetic research be funded by governments or private firms?", give a point, explain why, then an example. Show both sides and hedge (it depends on…, generally) for opinion questions. P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ; দুই দিক ও hedging।
