How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 7, Test 1, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives the topic of each part, an original model approach, and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script. Speak naturally about your own life.

Part 1: Keeping in Contact with People
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions (4–5 minutes). The topic is keeping in contact — how you usually contact friends, whether you prefer different ways for different people, whether it is easy to stay in touch with friends and family, and whether people kept in contact the same way in the past. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন। বিষয় যোগাযোগ রাখা — বন্ধুদের সাধারণত কীভাবে যোগাযোগ করেন, ভিন্ন মানুষের জন্য ভিন্ন উপায় পছন্দ কি না, পরিবার-বন্ধুর সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ সহজ কি না, অতীতে কি একইভাবে হতো।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Give a direct answer, then a reason and a small detail. The prompts ask "why/why not", so always add a reason. Keep answers to two or three sentences. উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ। "কেন/কেন নয়" যোগ করুন; ২–৩ বাক্য।
Useful openers: "I mostly keep in touch by…", "For close friends I prefer… whereas for family I…", "It's much easier now because…"

Part 2: Describe a Party That You Enjoyed
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks: whose party it was and what it was celebrating, where the party was held and who went to it, what people did during the party, and to explain what you enjoyed about it. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, ১–২ মিনিট। এটি কার পার্টি ছিল ও কী উপলক্ষে, কোথায় হয়েছিল ও কারা এসেছিল, লোকজন কী করেছিল, এবং কী উপভোগ করেছিলেন।

Pick a real party — a birthday, wedding or festival — and describe the setting, the guests, the food and music, and why it felt special. Use past tenses throughout. সত্যিকার পার্টি বাছুন (জন্মদিন, বিয়ে, উৎসব); স্থান, অতিথি, খাবার-সঙ্গীত ও কেন বিশেষ। অতীত কাল ব্যবহার করুন।
Part 3: Family Parties & National Celebrations
Part 3 is a two-way discussion linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are family parties (why people hold them, whether spending a lot on family events is a good or bad trend, how they differ from friends' parties) and national celebrations (what kinds your country has, who enjoys them more, and whether they waste government money). Part 3: পারিবারিক পার্টি ও জাতীয় উৎসব।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: Point, Explain, Example. For "is spending a lot on parties a good trend?", give a point, explain why, then an example. Show both sides and use hedging (it depends on…, generally) for opinion questions. P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ; দুই দিক ও hedging।
