How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 7, Test 2, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives the topic of each part, an original model approach, and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script. Speak naturally about your own life.

Part 1: Laughing
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions (4–5 minutes). The topic is laughing — what kinds of things make you laugh, whether you like making other people laugh, whether it is important for people to laugh, and whether laughing is the same as feeling happy. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন। বিষয় হাসি — কী আপনাকে হাসায়, অন্যকে হাসাতে ভালোবাসেন কি না, হাসা কি গুরুত্বপূর্ণ, হাসা কি সুখী থাকার সমান।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Give a direct answer, then a reason and a small detail. The prompts ask "why/why not", so always add a reason. Keep answers to two or three sentences. উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ। "কেন/কেন নয়" যোগ করুন; ২–৩ বাক্য।
Useful openers: "Comedies and my friends' jokes make me laugh because…", "I do enjoy making people laugh since…", "Laughing matters because it…"

Part 2: Describe an Idea You Had for Improving Something at Work or College
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks: when and where you had your idea, what your idea was, who you told about it, and to explain why you thought it would make an improvement. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, ১–২ মিনিট। এটি কখন-কোথায় ধারণাটি পেলেন, ধারণাটি কী ছিল, কাকে বলেছিলেন, এবং কেন উন্নতি হবে ভেবেছিলেন।

Choose a real, simple idea — a better way to organise a class rota, a faster process at work, a new club — and explain the problem it solved and the improvement it brought. সত্যিকার সহজ ধারণা বাছুন (ক্লাস রোটা, দ্রুত প্রক্রিয়া, নতুন ক্লাব); কোন সমস্যা মিটল ও কী উন্নতি হলো।
Part 3: Ideas in Education & the Workplace
Part 3 is a two-way discussion linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are ideas and education (whether education should be about memorising past ideas, whether students should have their own new ideas, how teachers can help) and ideas in the workplace (whether employers should encourage new ideas, why people dislike new ideas, and whether having ideas or applying them is harder). Part 3: শিক্ষায় ধারণা ও কর্মক্ষেত্রে ধারণা।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: Point, Explain, Example. For "should employers encourage new ideas?", give a point, explain why, then an example. Show both sides and use hedging (it depends on…, generally) for opinion questions. P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ; দুই দিক ও hedging।
