How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 8, Test 3, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives the topic of each part, an original model approach, and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script. Speak naturally about your own life.

Part 1: Flowers
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions (4–5 minutes). The topic is flowers — whether you like having flowers in your home, where you would buy them, on what occasions you give someone flowers, and whether flowers are important in your culture. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন। বিষয় ফুল — বাড়িতে ফুল রাখতে পছন্দ করেন কি না, কোথায় কেনেন, কোন উপলক্ষে দেন, আপনার সংস্কৃতিতে ফুল গুরুত্বপূর্ণ কি না।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Give a direct answer, then a reason and a small detail. The prompts ask "why/why not", so always add a reason. Keep answers to two or three sentences. উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ। "কেন/কেন নয়" যোগ করুন; ২–৩ বাক্য।
Useful openers: "I love having fresh flowers because…", "I'd usually buy them from…", "We give flowers on occasions like…"

Part 2: Describe a meeting you remember going to at work, college or school
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks: when and where the meeting was held, who was at the meeting, what the people talked about, and to explain why you remember going to this meeting. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, ১–২ মিনিট। এটি কবে ও কোথায়, কারা ছিল, কী নিয়ে কথা, কেন মনে আছে।

Pick a real meeting — a class committee, a group project, a staff or club meeting. Describe who attended and what was decided, and explain what made it memorable (an important decision, a disagreement, your own role). সত্যিকার একটি সভা বাছুন; কারা ছিল ও কী সিদ্ধান্ত এবং স্মরণীয় হওয়ার কারণ।
Part 3: Going to Meetings; International Meetings
Part 3 is a two-way discussion linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are going to meetings (the different types of meeting people attend, whether people dislike them, why meetings can matter) and international meetings (why world leaders meet, the difficulties of organising such meetings, and whether they will become more or less frequent). Part 3: সভায় যাওয়া; আন্তর্জাতিক সভা।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: Point, Explain, Example. For "why do world leaders meet?", give a point, explain why, then an example. Show both sides and use hedging (it depends on…, generally) for opinion questions. P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ; দুই দিক ও hedging।
