How to Use This Companion (এই গাইড কীভাবে ব্যবহার করবেন)
A study companion for the Cambridge IELTS 9, Test 3, Speaking topics. Speaking has no fixed "answers", so this page gives the topic of each part, an original model approach, and useful phrases and vocabulary — all in our own words.

Don't memorise. These are ideas and language to practise with — not a script. Speak naturally about your own life.

Part 1: Telephoning
Part 1 asks simple, familiar questions (4–5 minutes). The topic is telephoning — how often you make telephone calls, who you spend most time talking to, when you will next make a call, and whether you sometimes prefer a text message. Part 1-এ পরিচিত সহজ প্রশ্ন। বিষয় ফোন করা — কত ঘন ঘন কল করেন, কার সঙ্গে বেশি কথা, পরের কল কখন, টেক্সট মেসেজ বেশি পছন্দ কি না।
Model approach (মডেল পদ্ধতি)
Give a direct answer, then a reason and a small detail. The prompts ask "why/why not", so always add a reason. Keep answers to two or three sentences. উত্তর + কারণ + উদাহরণ। "কেন/কেন নয়" যোগ করুন; ২–৩ বাক্য।
Useful openers: "I make calls a few times a day, mainly to…", "I spend most time talking to…", "I often prefer texting because…"

Part 2: Describe a journey (e.g. by car, plane, boat) that you remember well
You get a cue card, one minute to prepare, then speak for 1–2 minutes. The card asks: where you went, how you travelled, why you went on the journey, and to explain why you remember this journey well. কিউ কার্ড, ১ মিনিট প্রস্তুতি, ১–২ মিনিট। এটি কোথায় গেলেন, কীভাবে গেলেন, কেন গেলেন, কেন মনে আছে।

Choose a journey with a story — a first flight, a long train trip, a boat ride. Describe the route and mode, and explain what made it memorable (scenery, people, an event). গল্পসহ একটি যাত্রা বাছুন; পথ ও বাহন ও স্মরণীয় হওয়ার কারণ (দৃশ্য, মানুষ, ঘটনা)।
Part 3: Reasons for Daily Travel; Benefits of International Travel
Part 3 is a two-way discussion linked to Part 2 (4–5 minutes). The themes are reasons for daily travel (why people travel every day, problems on the daily commute, whether daily journeys will change) and benefits of international travel (what people learn from other countries, how travel affects the economy, and how society benefits). Part 3: দৈনিক ভ্রমণের কারণ; আন্তর্জাতিক ভ্রমণের উপকার।
How to develop answers (উত্তর কীভাবে বাড়াবেন)
Use P-E-E: Point, Explain, Example. For "how does travel help the economy?", give a point, explain why, then an example. Show both sides and use hedging (it depends on…, generally) for opinion questions. P-E-E: মত, ব্যাখ্যা, উদাহরণ; দুই দিক ও hedging।
