3. Honestly, I’d find it quite difficult — not because I’m addicted exactly, but because so much of my daily life, from banking to directions, now depends on it.

Band 9 ~2 minutes
The object I’d like to describe is my pair of wireless headphones, which have honestly become one of the most useful things I own.
I bought them about a year ago, after saving up for a couple of months. I’d read a lot of reviews and finally chose a well-known brand with excellent noise cancellation, and I’ve never regretted the decision.
I use them almost every single day, for hours at a time. In the morning, I put them on while commuting to block out the traffic; during the day, I use them for online meetings; and in the evening, I unwind by listening to music or podcasts. Because they’re wireless, I can move around the house freely while I’m on a call.
There are two main reasons they’re so useful. Firstly, the noise cancellation lets me concentrate in even the busiest environments — I can study on a crowded bus as easily as in a quiet library. Secondly, they’ve genuinely improved my mood and productivity; being able to disappear into my own world of music is surprisingly relaxing.
So, all in all, my headphones are far more than just a gadget. They help me work, relax and escape the chaos of city life, and I honestly can’t imagine my daily routine without them.
Band 7 ~1.5–2 minutes
The object I want to describe is my wireless headphones, which are very useful for me.
I bought them about one year ago, after I saved money for two months. I read many reviews and chose a good brand with good noise cancellation, and I am very happy with them.
I use them almost every day, for many hours. In the morning I use them on the bus to block the traffic noise, in the day I use them for online meetings, and in the evening I listen to music and podcasts. Because they are wireless, I can move around the house when I am on a call, which is very convenient.
There are two main reasons they are useful. First, the noise cancellation helps me to concentrate in noisy places, so I can study even on a crowded bus. Second, they make me feel relaxed and I can work better, because I can listen to music whenever I want.
So my headphones are more than a gadget. They help me work and relax, and I cannot imagine my day without them.

2. Do you think we rely too much on technology?
3. Why do people always want to buy the newest gadgets?
4. What are the disadvantages of a “throwaway” culture, where people replace things quickly?
5. Do you think life was better before smartphones?
✅ Sample answers at 3 levels (Band 9 / 7 / 5–6) + Bangla explanations
Band 9
1. Enormously. It has transformed almost every aspect of life — how we work, communicate and shop. A task that once took days, like sending a document abroad, now takes seconds, which has made life far more efficient, though arguably more stressful too.
2. In many ways, yes. Technology is wonderful, but we’ve become so dependent on it that many people would struggle to perform basic tasks — navigating a city, or even doing simple arithmetic — without a device to help them.
3. It’s partly clever marketing and partly social pressure. Companies deliberately release new models every year to make the old ones feel outdated, and because owning the latest gadget has become a kind of status symbol, people feel they have to keep up.
4. The throwaway culture has serious downsides. It generates enormous amounts of electronic waste, which is very harmful to the environment, and it encourages a wasteful mindset where nothing is repaired or valued for long.
5. That’s a difficult one. In some ways life was simpler and more peaceful before smartphones, with fewer distractions. However, I wouldn’t want to give up the convenience they provide, so on balance I’d say they’ve done more good than harm.
Band 7
1. It has changed life a lot. It has changed how we work, communicate and shop. Something that took many days before, like sending a document to another country, now takes seconds, so life is more efficient but also more stressful.
2. Yes, in many ways. Technology is very useful, but we depend on it too much. Many people cannot do simple things, like finding their way in a city, without a phone to help them.
3. It is because of clever marketing and social pressure. Companies make new models every year, so the old one looks old, and having the newest gadget is a kind of status, so people want to keep up.
4. The throwaway culture has bad effects. It makes a lot of electronic waste, which is bad for the environment. It also makes people wasteful, because they don’t repair things or keep them for a long time.
5. It is difficult to say. In some ways life was simpler and more peaceful before smartphones, with fewer distractions. But I don’t want to lose the convenience, so I think they are more good than bad.
Band 5–6
1. It change life a lot. It change how we work, communicate and shop. Something that take many day before, like send document to other country, now take second, so life is more efficient but also more stress.
2. Yes in many way. Technology is very useful but we depend on it too much. Many people can not do simple thing like find the way in city without phone.
3. It is because of clever marketing and social pressure. Company make new model every year so old one look old, and have newest gadget is a kind of status so people want to keep up.
